what in the world?!

Spring 2010 the boys purchased one little pumpkin plant from Kopacz nursery.  It had two leaves when we planted it.  From that little plant these 3 giant pumpkins grew.  The largest weighing in at 75 lbs.

They made awesome jack-o-lanterns!

 We carefully dried the seeds.

Fastforward to Spring 2011.  We planted them.

They grew.

And this is what the plant that grew from those seeds produced....

Apparently the pumpkin and the zuchini plants got a little mixed last year.  The boys were hoping for more giant pumpkins but instead we have pump-kinis.  They are starting to turn orange so I'm hoping that they are more like a pumpkin inside than they are on the outside so we are able to carve them up!

On the bright side we did successfully grow some pretty bell peppers and tomatoes!
