Troops

I have mentioned this before but over the past few weeks we have been getting our yard into shape for the year. Weeding, cleaning, and planting the flowerbeds. Making changes to the deck. All these things are regularly on our list of to-dos in the spring but this year things have been accelerated because we are hosting a party later in the month.

Not that any of the people coming to the party really care that my flowerbeds are perfectly manicured because the purpose of the party is to encourage and to temporarily say farewell to a good friend of ours.

He is being deployed in a few weeks to go back to the war in the Middle East. This is the second time that we have seen him leave. The second time that we will daily pray for his safe return.

This car magnet from their first deployment is still stuck to our freezer. Every time I look at it I am reminded of the sacrifices that military families are making everyday for all of us.

So very thankful for them! And so excited to be able to host this party for him and his family!!

Amen. Thanks for the reminder that this is {closer} to home than we often think!
