Look at all that cheese...40 lb blocks...can you imagine!?!?!?
These are the regular size ones you see at the store...
They only have one open vat where they make cheese anymore and it wasn't working the day we were there. It's used to make the speciality cheeses like peppercorn jack. The rest of the cheese making is contained in large stainless steel containers. You don't even see it until the end of the line....here where the guys are bagging it.

oh, and did I mention they make ICE CREAM!!
This whole trip was very nastalgic for me. Even though my childhood beach trips were to Lincoln City we often traveled up to the cheese factory. We took pictures in front of this very ship many times!

Im with Linds love the squeaky cheese. I remember the cheese factory to be so much cooler when I went as a kid. I was not really that impressed when we went this year.
