Waiting for the ceremony to start!
We are the Kopacz Nursery Seedlings! And that's the Fighting Seedlings to anyone who is questioning the toughness of our team!;) And yep those are banana yellow uniforms! A little know fact, well a fact that I didn't know, is that the socks must match the primary color of the jerseys. Helps the refs determine who is doing what. Probably not a factor for 6U soccer since we don't have refs but never the less something I learned that right after I suggested that we have black socks instead of yellow (Again to increase the toughness of our teams look. You want to be intimidating when you walk out on the field)! Note to self, "If you know nothing about a particular sport, keep your mouth shut!";)
Note that the girl's faces are the centers of the flowers and the boys faces are in the seed packets. Again to help confirm that we are the Mighty Fighting Seedlings, our boys are not to be messed with!

And the highlight of the day the first game of the season! Justin is making a break for it! In the picture it looks like the boy in the green jersey is ahead of him but it was just a bad angle! He went the full length of the field and booted it in for his first goal ever! Complete with a fist pump and a high five to Dad (who was coaching today)! In the after game interview he had this to say, "Mom, that was good soccer today! The green team won and the yellow team won because there are no losers!"
I love that it is still all about the fun and the after game snack. Some day it will be about the "W" but today it was just about "good soccer"!
